Karen Mulle, BSN, MTS, MSW, is the chief therapist in the Program in Child and Adolescent Anxiety Disorders at Duke University Medical Center. Edna B. Foa, Ph.D. is a Professor of Clinical Psychology in Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania and Director of the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety. Elna Yadin, Ph.D. is a psychologist and director of the OCD clinic at the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety (CTSA) at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Foa has published several books and over 350 articles and book chapters and has lectured extensively around the world. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards and Edna B. Foa, PhD Her commitment to delineating etiological frameworks and targeted treatment has been highly influential. She is one of the leading experts in the areas of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and phobias. Edna Foa and her colleagues at the University of Pennsylvania further developed it and gave ERP its name in the 1970s and 1980s. Subsequent innovations in this therapy resulted in its being given a new name: Exposure and Ritual Prevention (ExRP). This created some confusion as the one therapy was now known by two names. Dr. Bender has also provided in-service training on OCD and related disorders at various area university counseling centers, including Columbia University, Barnard College, The New School, and Montclair State University, as well as training on Cognitive-behavioral treatment at Coler-Goldwater Specialty Hospital and Nursing Facility.
